My donkey is sick! In this beloved Spanish folksong, the doctor treats the donkey’s different ailments from head to toe until the donkey is finally healthy. The song teaches Spanish words for parts of the body as well as how to say that something hurts. This country music version of the song is a lively new take on the Spanish classic, performed by Ileana Pérez on Whistlefritz’s CD CARNAVAL — Spanish Learning Songs.

A MI BURRO, A MI BURRO
LE DUELE LA CABEZA
Y EL MÉDICO LE HA DADO
UNA GORRITA GRUESA
UNA GORRITA GRUESA
MI BURRO ENFERMO ESTÁ
MI BURRO ENFERMO ESTÁ
A MI BURRO, A MI BURRO
LE DUELEN LAS OREJAS
Y EL MÉDICO LE HA DADO
JARABE DE FRAMBUESA
JARABE DE FRAMBUESA
UNA GORRITA GRUESA
MI BURRO ENFERMO ESTÁ
MI BURRO ENFERMO ESTÁ
A MI BURRO, A MI BURRO
LE DUELE LA GARGANTA
Y EL MÉDICO LE HA DADO
UNA BUFANDA BLANCA
UNA BUFANDA BLANCA
JARABE DE FRAMBUESA
UNA GORRITA GRUESA
MI BURRO ENFERMO ESTÁ
MI BURRO ENFERMO ESTÁ
A MI BURRO, A MI BURRO
LE DUELE EL CORAZÓN
Y EL MÉDICO LE HA DADO
GOTITAS DE LIMÓN
GOTITAS DE LIMÓN
UNA BUFANDA BLANCA
JARABE DE FRAMBUESA
UNA GORRITA GRUESA
MI BURRO ENFERMO ESTÁ
MI BURRO ENFERMO ESTÁ
A MI BURRO, A MI BURRO
LE DUELEN LAS RODILLAS
Y EL MÉDICO LE HA DADO
UN FRASCO DE PASTILLAS
UN FRASCO DE PASTILLAS
GOTITAS DE LIMÓN
UNA BUFANDA BLANCA
JARABE DE FRAMBUESA
UNA GORRITA GRUESA
MI BURRO ENFERMO ESTÁ
MI BURRO ENFERMO ESTÁ
A MI BURRO, A MI BURRO
YA NO LE DUELE NADA
EL MÉDICO LE HA DADO
UNA MANZANA ASADA
UNA MANZANA ASADA
UN FRASCO DE PASTILLAS
GOTITAS DE LIMÓN
UNA BUFANDA BLANCA
JARABE DE FRAMBUESA
UNA GORRITA GRUESA
MI BURRO SANO ESTÁ
MI BURRO SANO ESTÁ
Here comes the wolf! In this song and game, kids are going for a walk in the woods, but they have to be careful. If The Wolf is in the woods, he’ll eat them. So, kids cautiously take turns asking The Wolf what he’s doing to make sure they’ll be safe. As long as the The Wolf is putting on a piece of clothing, they’re safe. But when The Wolf is done, it’s time to run! Children thrill with anticipation after each question as they wonder if they can stay or have to scamper away. This fun, participatory song teaches children the Spanish words for different items of clothing. The song, performed by Jorge Anaya, is from Whistlefritz’s CD ¡SABOR!

Caminemos en el bosque
Mientras el lobo no está
Si el lobo está
Él te va a comer
Pero si no está
No te va a comer
¿Lobo? . . . ¿Me escuchas? . . . ¿Qué haces?
Yo me pongo los calcetines
Caminemos en el bosque
Mientras el lobo no está
Si el lobo está
Él te va a comer
Pero si no está
No te va a comer
¿Lobo? . . . ¿Me escuchas? . . . ¿Qué haces?
Yo me pongo los pantalones
Caminemos en el bosque
Mientras el lobo no está
Si el lobo está
Él te va a comer
Pero si no está
No te va a comer
¿Lobo? . . . ¿Me escuchas? . . . ¿Qué haces?
Yo me pongo la camisa
Caminemos en el bosque
Mientras el lobo no está
Si el lobo está
Él te va a comer
Pero si no está
No te va a comer
¿Lobo? . . . ¿Me escuchas? . . . ¿Qué haces?

Mientras el lobo no está

Pero si no está

¡Aquí estoy!
Let’s walk in the woods
While the wolf isn’t there
If the wolf is there
It’s going to eat us
But if it’s not there
It’s not going to eat us
Wolf? . . . Do you hear me? . . . What are you doing?
I’m putting on my socks.
Let’s walk in the woods
While the wolf isn’t there
If the wolf is there
It’s going to eat us
But if it’s not there
It’s not going to eat us
Wolf? . . . Do you hear me? . . . What are you doing?
I’m putting on my pants.
Let’s walk in the woods
While the wolf isn’t there
If the wolf is there
It’s going to eat us
But if it’s not there
It’s not going to eat us
Wolf? . . . Do you hear me? . . . What are you doing?
I’m putting on my shirt.
Let’s walk in the woods
While the wolf isn’t there
If the wolf is there
It’s going to eat us
But if it’s not there
It’s not going to eat us
Wolf? . . . Do you hear me? . . . What are you doing?
I’m putting on my shoes.
Let’s walk in the woods
While the wolf isn’t there
If the wolf is there
It’s going to eat us
But if it’s not there
It’s not going to eat us
Wolf? . . . Do you hear me? . . . What are you doing?
I’m putting on my hat.
Let’s walk in the woods
While the wolf isn’t there
If the wolf is there
It’s going to eat us
But if it’s not there
It’s not going to eat us
Wolf? . . . Do you hear me? . . . What are you doing?
Here I am!
This well-known traditional Spanish song is beloved throughout the world. Like traditional songs in many languages, many of the older lyrics of the song are not suitable for children. Consequently, we keep the song’s familiar refrain, but create lyrics that are kid-friendly and educational. Composed and performed by Jorge Anaya, this version of the traditional favorite teaches about items of clothing and places. The song is from Whistlefritz’s CD CHA, CHA, CHA — Spanish Learning Songs.

La cucaracha, la cucaracha
Ya no puede caminar
Porque no tiene, porque le faltan
Las dos patitas de atrás
La cucaracha, la cucaracha
Ya no puede caminar
Porque no tiene, porque le faltan
Las dos patitas de atrás
Cuando la perica quiere
Que el perico vaya al cine
Se levanta muy temprano
Y le compra calcetines
Cuando la perica quiere
Que el perico vaya al cine
Se levanta muy temprano
Y le compra calcetines
La cucaracha, la cucaracha
Ya no puede caminar
Porque no tiene, porque le faltan
Las dos patitas de atrás
Cuando el perico quiere
Que la perica vaya al teatro
Se levanta muy temprano
Y le compra los zapatos
Cuando el perico quiere
Que la perica vaya al teatro
Se levanta muy temprano
Y le compra los zapatos
La cucaracha, la cucaracha
Ya no puede caminar
Porque no tiene, porque le faltan
Las dos patitas de atrás
La cucaracha, la cucaracha
Ya no puede caminar
Porque no tiene, porque le faltan
Las dos patitas de atrás
Cuando la perica quiere
Que el perica vaya al pueblo
Se levanta muy temprano
Y le compra su pañuelo
Cuando la perica quiere
Que el perica vaya al pueblo
Se levanta muy temprano
Y le compra su pañuelo
La cucaracha, la cucaracha
Ya no puede caminar
Porque no tiene, porque le faltan
Las dos patitas de atrás
La cucaracha, la cucaracha
Ya no puede caminar
Porque no tiene, porque le faltan
Las dos patitas de atrás
Cuando el perico quiere
Que la perica vaya a un viaje
Se levanta muy temprano
Y le compra un buen traje
Cuando el perico quiere
Que la perica vaya a un viaje
Se levanta muy temprano
Y le compra un buen traje
La cucaracha, la cucaracha
Ya no puede caminar
Porque no tiene, porque le faltan
Las dos patitas de atrás

The cockroach, the cockroach
Can’t walk anymore
Because he doesn’t have, because he’s missing
His two back legs
The cockroach, the cockroach
Can’t walk anymore
Because he doesn’t have, because he’s missing
His two back legs
When the female parakeet wants
The male parakeet to go to the movies
She gets up very early
And buys him socks
When the female parakeet wants
The male parakeet to go to the movies
She gets up very early
And buys him socks
The cockroach, the cockroach
Can’t walk anymore
Because he doesn’t have, because he’s missing
His two back legs
When the male parakeet wants
The female parakeet to go to the theater
He gets up very early
And buys her shoes
When the male parakeet wants
The female parakeet to go to the theater
He gets up very early
And buys her shoes
The cockroach, the cockroach
Can’t walk anymore
Because he doesn’t have, because he’s missing
His two back legs
The cockroach, the cockroach
Can’t walk anymore
Because he doesn’t have, because he’s missing
His two back legs
When the female parakeet wants
The male parakeet to go to the village
She gets up very early
And buys his handkerchief
When the female parakeet wants
The male parakeet to go to the village
She gets up very early
And buys his handkerchief
The cockroach, the cockroach
Can’t walk anymore
Because he doesn’t have, because he’s missing
His two back legs
The cockroach, the cockroach
Can’t walk anymore
Because he doesn’t have, because he’s missing
His two back legs
When the male parakeet wants
The female parakeet to go on a trip
He gets up very early
And buys her a nice outfit
When the male parakeet wants

He gets up very early
And buys her a nice outfit
The cockroach, the cockroach

¡Invierno, primavera, verano y otoño! Winter, spring, summer, and fall! Put on your gloves, raincoat, shorts, and sweater and get ready to play! This high-energy Spanish song about the seasons will teach kids the Spanish words for clothing and the seasons. Playful imagery of kids throwing snowballs, sledding, splashing in puddles, swimming, jumping in leaves, and going on a hayride makes learning about the seasons a ton of fun! The video clip appears in Whistlefritz’s language immersion video Spanish for Kids: LAS ESTACIONES. The song, performed by Jorge Anaya, is “LAS ESTACIONES” from Whistlefritz’s CD CHA, CHA, CHA.

Las estaciones del año
Las estaciones del año
Invierno, primavera, verano y otoño
En invierno hace frío
Me pongo un abrigo
Me pongo un gorro
Me pongo unos guantes
Y salgo a jugar
Invierno, primavera, verano y otoño
En primavera hay flores y lluvia
Me pongo un impermeable
Me pongo un sombrero
Me pongo unas botas
Y salgo a jugar
Invierno, primavera, verano y otoño
En verano hace calor
Me pongo una gorra
Me pongo una camiseta
Me pongo unos zapatos
Y salgo a jugar
Invierno, primavera, verano y otoño
En otoño caen las hojas
Me pongo una camisa
Me pongo un pantalón
Me pongo una chaqueta
Y salgo a jugar
A jugar
A jugar
Por todo el año a jugar
Invierno, primavera, verano y otoño
Invierno, primavera, verano y otoño
Las estaciones del año
The seasons of the year
The seasons of the year
Winter, spring, summer, and fall
In winter, it’s cold
I put on a coat
I put on a wool hat
I put on some gloves
And go out to play
Winter, spring, summer, and fall
In spring, there are flowers and rain
I put on a raincoat
I put on a hat
I put on some boots
And go out to play
Winter, spring, summer, and fall
In summer, it’s hot
I put on a cap
I put on a T-shirt
I put on some shoes
And go out to play
Winter, spring, summer, and fall
In autumn, the leaves fall
I put on a shirt
I put on pants
I put on a jacket
And go out to play
To play
To play
All year to play
Winter, spring, summer, and fall
Winter, spring, summer, and fall
The four seasons of the year!
