Independent Practice: Have students choose two other colors to combine, identifying the two
colors by name as they choose. Then, have students identify the color created. Have students

combine balloons to create and identify the colors green (verde), purple (morado), orange

(anaranjado), and brown (café). Repeat for as long as students’ interest holds.

Closure: Ask students to identify the primary colors and the various colors created by
combining them. “What color do we get when we mix yellow and blue?” (¿Qué color creamos

cuando mezclamos amarillo y azul?) . “yellow and red?” (¿amarillo y rojo?) . “red and

blue?” (¿rojo y azul?) . “red, yellow, and blue?” (¿rojo, amarillo, y azul?)

Extension Activities: Have students paint balloons combining primary colors to create

secondary colors. Introduce students to the colors white (blanco) and black (negro) and have .
